Kayaking & Trekking in the peony and turtle reserve -10% early booking

From: 380 RON

Description

A trip that is intended to be an incursion into both landscapes of northern Dobrogea, the meanders of the Danube and the Măcin Mountains, with their special fauna and flora. Thus, one day will be reserved for a kayak and canoe tour on the "Old Danube - Măcin" branch, and the second for trekking on the mountain paths, in the Măcin Mountains National Park, where we will encounter wild peonies (Paeonia peregrina), endangered species and another protected and rare species, the Dobrogean land tortoise (Greek tortoise).

We meet on Friday evening at the campsite, which will be determined depending on the hydro-weather conditions of the respective period, then set up camp and socialize around the campfire. For those who do not want to stay in a tent, we can recommend several nearby accommodation locations.

Saturday breakfast, with coffee and tea from the kettle, and then we move to the starting point of the route. We prepare the boats and have an introductory session in rowing; balance exercises, strokes, forward-backward maneuvers, etc.

Along the route, you will encounter breathtaking landscapes and sights, flooded forests, real jungles on islands in the middle of the waters (Andra Island), or ancient ruins, such as the Troesmis fortress.

At lunchtime we take a break for a picnic and rest, in an open area, good for sunbathing and swimming. We continue paddling until the afternoon with breaks at other interesting sights.

In the evening we return to camp for a pot of fire and Nicorești wine. If we are lucky enough to find fish at the fishmonger's, we make a proper roast, if not, we have veal stew, sprinkled with wine.

Sunday starts with breakfast, coffee and tea, packing up camp and starting the trekking route to the peony reserve. The route will be chosen depending on their presence on certain slopes, probably in the Tutuiatu Peak area and will last 4-5 hours. We will definitely meet the turtles, who are in their peak activity period.

Dealing with a protected species, we admire and photograph the peonies, leaving them undisturbed in their place.
